ACTING

“I’m a believer in the power of knowledge and the ferocity of beauty, so from my point of view, your life is already artful—waiting, just waiting, for you to make it art.” – Toni Morrison

Crystal McCreary’s performing artist training began when learning to engage her elementary-aged students as a classroom teacher and in her professional dance beginnings with Robert Moses’ Kin in San Francisco. However Crystal’s professional acting career officially began in the Bay Area on stages including The American Conservatory Theater and California Shakespeare Theater before making her way East. Upon arrival in New York City after receiving her MFA from The American Conservatory Theatre, Crystal played to regional audiences in shows including Hallelujah, Baby! at George Street Playhouse and Arena Stage (dir. by the late, great Arthur Laurents), A Raisin in the Sun at Hartford Stage (dir. Seret Scott) and in The Vertical Hour (dir. Sam Mendes) at The Music Box Theater on Broadway.

Film and TV credits include: Julie & Julia, Grey’s Anatomy, Arranged and The Night Of. Collaborating creatively to source the truth of the human experience by telling stories that heal, inspire and impact social charge is at the heart of all the work Crystal does, whether in front of audiences, students, or workshop participants.
